Akamai is our first available camper van on the beautiful island of Maui! Akamai is a Ford E-350 Extended Van, fitted with a camper top. This extra space allows for an incredible 360 degree view up top for star-gazing as you fall asleep under the stars. Akamai also features a refrigerator/freezer, a 100 watt solar panel and battery control center for charging your GPS or iPhone… But remember to disconnect to really enjoy your experience. You’ll have your own map of Maui with our favorite spots for food, camping, and more! Looking to hit specific spots? Let us know when you book your trip and your map will have X marking the spot!! We can’t wait to meet you!! Mahalo!! Also included is a rear outdoor shower to bath in the beautiful sunshine. When you have to go, you have to go and so we’ve added a composting toilet in the back with a privacy screen of real drift wood. Lounge in the seating area and raise the bed up on both sides to let the sunshine in throughout the interior. Beautiful bowl sink to keep you feeling clean and fresh with water pumped in from below. 9 gallons of water included and easily refilled all over the island. Surfboard racks on both sides can be attached as requested and a small propane grill can be used to cook outside or hooked to the side door. A fold out bench on the side makes it easy to find a place to rest and just take in the scenery. We’ve made sure the basics are covered so the only thing you need to do is enjoy your time here and experience the Aloha of the Islands! We can’t wait to meet you!!

Along with solar power, our custom include a full-sized bed, large fridge, propane 2-burner stove, full sink, outdoor hot shower, 2 seats with seatbelts, electrical outlets and fans – that operate even when the van isn’t running. Holo holo makes every effort to utilize sustainable and eco friendly products in order to maintain malama aina (care of the island) for years to come.

The vantastic voyage allows you to experience Oahu unlike most. You get to create your own adventure as opposed to the busy Waikiki life. I love the camp sites around Oahu and the various locations to park and chill. I snorkel often and there are so many great spots to drive too of use our snorkeling gear. It’s always relaxing and adventurous at the same time, just like camping:)
