Gooseberry Lake Provincial Park — RV Camping in Consort, AB

Gooseberry Lake Provincial Park is a peaceful prairie retreat located 12 km north of Consort, Alberta, along Highway 41 in the heart of the Neutral Hills region. Tucked into expansive prairie grasslands and shaded by trees planted by volunteers in the 1930s, this campground offers a uniquely tranquil setting where the lake is naturally evolving into a rich wetland ecosystem. Designated an Important Bird Area, the park attracts birdwatchers year-round, with exceptional shorebird migrations each spring and fall and habitat for the threatened piping plover. Campers enjoy a full suite of amenities including 30-amp and water hookups, grills, picnic tables, showers, flush toilets, a dump station, and firewood. A playground and spray park make it a family-friendly destination. Outdoor enthusiasts can explore hiking and biking trails, cast a line at the stocked trout pond just south of the park, or tee off at the 9-hole Consort Golf Course located within park boundaries. Dark skies make for excellent stargazing on clear evenings. Managed by the Special Areas Board, the park offers an authentic Alberta prairie camping experience within easy reach of Consort.
