Great host

Don was great to work with - open, accommodating, reasonable. The Mercedes Sprinter van is excellent to drive and operate, comfortable and well-equipped. The Coach part of the setup has some challenges, with some "cludgy" drawers that stuck and were flimsy, and somewhat expected space limitations. The bed was good, and the provision of BBQ and induction range worked well - the kitchen was reasonably kitted out and we were able to make some outstanding meals. Unfortunately the power failed the last night (may have been related to an alternator issue, but unclear) and that coupled with a manual awning control that was broken before we took the vehicle (but wasn't tested) created a significant problem in returning. Since you can't move the vehicle with the awning extended, the inability to retract it is leaves you stranded - literally. We would use the setup again, but recommend a simple operator's manual for all the things not covered by manufacturer's manuals, and a full inspection of the most critical functions, particularly the awning.

Don started off by picking us up in the van at Departure Bay in Nanaimo which was very helpful. Having the ability to rent this type van on the island rather than on mainland was extremely convenient and economical. Don was incredibly responsive, thoughtful, and kind throughout the whole process. He went above and beyond to make our stay in the van as comfortable as possible. Pick up and drop off coordination was seamless and he would help us with anything at any time! Highly recommend booking this van or through Don.

What an absolute dream! Don’s van was the perfect home away from home during our Vancouver island adventure. We couldn’t have asked for a better equipped vehicle that was comfortable, reliable, classy and truly had everything we could have needed. Don was also a stellar host — helping answer questions, provide tips on where to go and what to do, and be readily available when needed. Couldn’t have asked for a better van (and host) to complement our trip!

We had a wonderful trip. Loved the sprinter campervan! No mechanical issues with the van and it was very easy to drive. Well stocked and detailed. Was definitely a little cozy in space especially if the weather isn’t great and you can’t spread some things outside. Overall a tremendous experience!
