Dry Creek State Recreation Site is a spacious 360-acre campground located at Milepost 117.5 on the Richardson Highway, approximately 4 miles north of Glennallen in Alaska's Matanuska-Susitna region. The site offers 50 campsites across multiple loops capable of accommodating recreational vehicles of any size, making it a versatile stop for road trippers exploring the Alaska interior. Anglers will appreciate the on-site creek, which is home to grayling and rainbow trout. The recreation site features water hookups, picnic tables, grills, and accessible restroom facilities, including ADA-compliant toilets and water access. Hiking and nature trails wind through the property, offering opportunities to explore Alaska's dramatic landscape. Nine dedicated picnic sites make the area equally well-suited for day visitors. A 15-day camping limit applies. The campground is managed by a local concessionaire, Ancient Spruce Co., available for reservations and inquiries. Campers should plan to bring their own firewood. Situated along the Richardson Highway corridor, Dry Creek State Recreation Site serves as an excellent base for exploring the Copper River Valley and surrounding wilderness of southcentral Alaska.
