Best time to visit Allegany State Park

Late June through August offers the warmest weather, open swimming beaches, and full campground services, making it the most popular window for RV travel. June and September are strong shoulder-season choices, with cooler nights, fewer crowds, and good hiking conditions. Early October brings vivid fall foliage on the Allegheny Plateau and is a favorite for scenic drives. Winter visits are possible for day use and cross-country skiing, but most RV camping loops close and overnight options become very limited.
