Late June through August is the prime window, when daytime highs are mild, the campground is fully open, and the shallow bay water is at its warmest for swimming. July offers the most reliable weather but also the busiest weekends, so midweek stays are easier for drop-in RVers. Early June and September are quieter shoulder periods, though nights are cool and some services may be reduced. Outside the summer season the park is closed to camping.

The long sand and gravel beach is the park's main attraction, with shallow, relatively warm water at low tide. RVers can park in the day-use lot and walk directly onto the beach for swimming, sandcastles, and beachcombing.
Visitors can explore the shoreline of Trinity Bay for driftwood, shells, and small tidal pools left behind at low tide. The flat, firm sand makes for easy walking along the water's edge.
Shaded picnic tables and shelters sit near the beach for lunches and family gatherings. The site is well suited to a midday stop while travelling the Trans-Canada Highway.
The sheltered bay and coastal dunes attract shorebirds, gulls, and seabirds during the summer months. Binoculars are useful for spotting passing eiders and terns along the water.
An on-site playground provides space for kids to play while parents relax near the campground. It is a short, flat walk from the main camping loops.
The park is within easy driving distance of the villages of Dildo, New Harbour, and Heart's Content, each offering small museums, harbours, and whale-watching opportunities. These make good half-day excursions from a basecamp at the park.
The west-facing shoreline offers open views across Trinity Bay for evening sunsets. It is a short, level stroll from the campground loops to the water.

Bellevue Beach Provincial Park, NL, Canada
The park is reached from the Trans-Canada Highway (Route 1) via Route 201, about a 1.5 to 2 hour drive (roughly 150 km) west of St. John's and about 1 hour (around 90 km) east of Clarenville. The access roads are paved, two-lane, and generally RV-friendly, with no major tunnels, weight limits, or severe mountain passes, though winds across the isthmus can be strong for high-profile rigs. St. John's International Airport (YYT) is the nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travellers. Drivers arriving via the Marine Atlantic ferry at Argentia are within about a one-hour drive of the park.
