Late May through early September is the peak window, with warm days ideal for swimming at the beach and full campground services available. June and early July bring long daylight and green forest canopy, while late August and September offer cooler nights, fewer bugs, and easier campsite availability. October provides excellent fall color in the oak and maple stands, though overnight temperatures drop sharply. Winter visits are possible for day use and cross-country skiing, but the campground is typically closed.

The park's sandy swimming beach on Geneva Lake is the centerpiece attraction and the reason for its name. The beach has a roped-off swim area, shoreline picnic tables, and restrooms within a short walk, with RV-accessible parking near the day-use lot.
Big Foot Beach offers more than five miles of interconnected hiking trails through oak-hickory woods and open meadows. Loops are mostly flat and family-friendly, with trailheads accessible from the main day-use parking areas.
Geneva Lake is known for lake trout, smallmouth bass, northern pike, and panfish, with shoreline fishing directly from the park. A Wisconsin fishing license is required for anglers 16 and older.
The park's small interior lagoons and Geneva Lake's protected shoreline are well suited for kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. Carry-in launches are accessible from the day-use area.
The park sits roughly a mile south of downtown Lake Geneva, making it feasible to walk or bike to shops, restaurants, and the Geneva Lake Shore Path. The nearby Shore Path is a historic 21-mile footpath circling the entire lake.
In winter, several miles of park trails are open for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Day-use parking is plowed even when the campground is closed.
Shaded picnic areas along Geneva Lake provide tables, grills, and open lawns ideal for family gatherings. Picnic shelters are available and can be reserved in advance through Wisconsin DNR.
Bryan I was an exceptionally OK good host. Easy to communicate with and timely on everything. He even made a special trip to get the correct electric hook up plug. Can’t see enough good things.

This RV is practically brand new! We traveled to the upper peninsula of Michigan, and the host were wonderful from start to finish. They were extremely responsive via the app to communicate with us. When we arrived for pick up, they took extra time to answer all of our questions and walk us through how to set up the camper properly at the campsite. The camper is well equipped with everything that you need for a weekend getaway camping. We will definitely be back to rent this RV from the host again. You won’t regret it!

Big Foot Beach State Park, WI, United States
The park sits on State Highway 120 about one mile south of downtown Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. From Milwaukee it is roughly a 50-mile, one-hour drive south on I-43 and WI-120; from Chicago it is about 80 miles, or 90 minutes, north via I-94 and US-12. RV drivers should note that Highway 120 and local approach roads are paved and RV-friendly, with no tunnels or steep mountain grades, but narrow streets and heavy summer traffic through downtown Lake Geneva can be tight for larger rigs. The nearest major airports for fly-and-rent travelers are Milwaukee Mitchell International (MKE) and Chicago O'Hare (ORD).
