Late May through mid-October is the prime window, when Route 358 is clear of snow and the Annapolis Valley is green or showing fall colour. July and August bring the warmest, longest days and the best chance of haze-free views across the Minas Basin. September and early October are ideal shoulder-season choices for RV travellers, with cooler temperatures, thinner traffic, and vibrant foliage over the Valley farmland. Winter visits are possible on clear days but roads can be icy and facilities are unmaintained.
Park open but unmaintained, Route 358 can be icy
Cold and windy on the ridge, unmaintained
Shoulder conditions, watch for lingering snow and ice
Spring access improves as snow clears
Wildflowers begin, Valley apple blossoms peak late month
Peak season, haze can limit long views
Warm, often the clearest evening skies
Excellent shoulder-season RV conditions
Fall foliage peak across the Valley
Cool and wet, day-use only as usual
Unmaintained in winter, icy approach on Route 358
The main attraction is the roadside panorama over the Annapolis Valley from atop the North Mountain. Interpretive signs identify visible communities and landmarks across the patchwork of farmland below.
Picnic tables are set near the viewpoint for a casual roadside lunch. The site is a practical midday stop for RVers driving the Evangeline Trail loop.
The ridge delivers sunset views across the Valley that are a favourite with landscape photographers. After dark, limited light pollution makes it a quick stargazing stop.
A popular coastal hike to a dramatic Bay of Fundy headland is a short drive north on Route 358 toward Scots Bay. The round-trip trail runs about 13 km through mixed forest to cliff-top meadows.
The larger Blomidon Provincial Park on the Minas Basin side of the peninsula offers a serviced campground, beach access, and cliff-top trails. It is the closest overnight option for RV travellers visiting the Lookoff.
This working Bay of Fundy fishing village showcases the world's highest tides and has a well-known lobster pound. It is a short scenic drive from the Lookoff along the North Mountain.
The university town of Wolfville and the UNESCO-listed Grand Pre National Historic Site sit on the Valley floor within easy reach of the Lookoff. Both offer wineries, restaurants, and Acadian heritage sites.
Tyler's camper trailer was exactly the thing we needed for a family reunion in Cape Breton. From the initial contact in May to the contract completion in July, Tyler was easy to work with and accommodating. The trailer with upgraded mattresses is very comfortable, roomy and is easy to put up and take down. I will definitely keep Tyler and his trailer in mind for any future reunions. Thank you Tyler for a great experience.

Tyler was the perfect RVezy host. He delivered and set up his tent trailer in my son's driveway so I could have a quiet place to retreat to and sleep. Thoroughly enjoyed my week in his trailer and would recommend him to anyone needing a tent trailer in Nova Scotia or beyond. thanks Tyler it was a pleasure to meet you.

What a treat! We had a great tour with the Scramper around Cape Breton - the kids and pooch had a blast! 10/10 will rent again!

We rented the Scramper for a week, driving the entire perimeter of Nova Scotia. The RV was clean and stocked with basic utensils, cleaning supplies, towels, sheets, etc. The RV, itself, performed well, even on some very steep and narrow roads. Remember, you aren't driving a VW bug, so getting out of some narrow spaces and full parking lots can be a challenge, but the Scramper has a camera that engages when backing up, which helps immensely. Before taking off, Megan gave us a thorough tour. That, along with the clear written instruction booklet, made what at first seemed daunting actually quite easy to manage. Finally, we want to give a shout-out to Nova Scotia and their marvelous provincial parks. The Scramper and the provincial parks made for a lovely week.

Blomidon Lookoff Provincial Park, NS, Canada
The Lookoff is on Route 358 roughly 15 minutes north of Canning and about 30 minutes (35 km) from Wolfville. From Halifax the drive is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes (about 110 km) via Highway 101 and Exit 11 at Wolfville/Greenwich. RV drivers should note that Route 358 climbs and descends the North Mountain with some steep grades and tight curves near the summit, and the parking area is a narrow roadside pull-off better suited to smaller Class B and Class C rigs than long fifth-wheels. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent travellers is Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ), about 100 km east.
