Late June through early September brings the warmest, driest weather on the south coast, with daytime highs in the 60s Fahrenheit and long evenings ideal for beach walks. July and August are peak season and campsites book out months in advance, so shoulder months of May, June, and September offer milder crowds with still-pleasant conditions. Winter RV travel is possible because the campground stays open year round, but expect heavy rain, wind, and occasional storm-driven beach closures. Snowy plover nesting restrictions on parts of the beach run from mid March through mid September.

The Coquille River Lighthouse is a restored 1896 lighthouse at the mouth of the Coquille River, reachable by a short paved park road with RV-accessible parking. Seasonal interpretive tours explain the light's maritime history.
Several miles of wide sandy Pacific beach are accessible from paved day-use lots within the park. The beach is popular for walking, beachcombing, kite flying, and surf fishing, with seasonal restrictions in snowy plover nesting zones.
Bullards Beach has a dedicated equestrian camp with corrals and direct trail access to the beach. Riders can travel miles of sand outside of plover closure areas.
A paved boat ramp on the Coquille River provides access for small boats, kayaks, and crab rings. The lower river is a productive spot for Dungeness crab and estuary fishing.
A paved multi-use path runs through the park between the campground, day-use areas, and the lighthouse. It offers a flat, family-friendly ride suitable for e-bikes stored in an RV.
Downtown Bandon sits just across the Coquille River bridge, about a 5 mile drive from the park entrance. Visitors can explore shops, seafood restaurants, and the iconic sea stacks at Face Rock and Coquille Point.
The park's mix of river, estuary, dunes, and shore pine forest attracts shorebirds, waterfowl, bald eagles, and migrating species. The riverbanks and day-use areas are prime viewing spots accessible from RV parking lots.

First - we don’t camp, but we do now thanks to the experience in this camper! The beds were comfortable. Bathroom was spotless. Shower worked perfectly (hot showers after all the outdoor activities was awesome). The outdoor kitchen was a definite plus! We would book this again next time we come up to the area! Thank you for a great experience!

Bullards Beach State Park, OR, United States
The park entrance is off US Highway 101 about 2 miles north of Bandon, roughly 25 miles south of Coos Bay and about 90 miles north of the California border at Brookings. From Interstate 5 at Roseburg, it is about 90 miles west on Highway 42, a winding two-lane route with some grades that big rigs should drive in daylight. Highway 101 itself has no tunnels or severe passes in this stretch, but coastal crosswinds, fog, and narrow bridges call for slower RV speeds. The nearest commercial airport for fly-and-rent trips is Southwest Oregon Regional Airport (OTH) in North Bend, about 30 miles north.
