The park is a seasonal operation, typically open from late June through early September, and mid-July to mid-August is the warmest and most popular stretch for swimming at Malpeque Bay. Late June and the first week of September offer quieter campgrounds, cooler nights, and easier reservations, which suits RV travelers who prefer shoulder season. Outside the summer operating window the campground and services are closed, though the coastline can still be visited for short day walks when accessible.

Cabot Beach is a long supervised saltwater beach on Malpeque Bay with warm summer water, soft sand, and red-tinted shoreline. Lifeguards are typically on duty during peak summer hours, and changing facilities are available near the day-use area.
Easy walking paths follow the grassy headlands and dune edges overlooking Malpeque Bay. The flat terrain suits families and travelers looking for a short leg-stretch from the campground.
Malpeque Harbour is a short drive from the park and is famous for its oyster fishery. Visitors can watch working boats come and go and stop at local seafood spots along the harbour.
The rural drive between Cabot Beach and Kensington passes farmland, heritage churches, and small coastal villages. It is a relaxed RV-friendly loop on paved two-lane roads.
Cavendish lies roughly 30 to 40 minutes east of Cabot Beach and is home to Green Gables Heritage Place and PEI National Park beaches. The area has large lots suitable for RV day parking near main attractions.
The sheltered waters of Malpeque Bay are well suited to beginner and intermediate paddlers. Calm conditions are most common in the morning, and RV travelers can launch kayaks from the park shoreline.
The park's west-facing coastline on Malpeque Bay is a popular spot to watch sunset over the water. The tide line is good for collecting shells and spotting shorebirds in the evening.
All previous five star reviews are accurate! Kyle and Connie are lovely people who take the time to ensure you know how to operate all aspects of Sgt Meep. We are total newbies with lots of questions and Kyle patiently answered every one. The RV had absolutely everything we could need, including a spotless, well maintained interior. We are considering a future purchase and they took their time to answer so many additional questions that were totally unrelated to the rental. Good people with a fabulous RV. Thanks for sharing Sgt. Meep with us. Heather & Dave

We truly enjoyed renting Vincent's RV for six nights. It was equipped well beyond our needs. They (Vincent and his lovely wife) thought of everything. We highly recommend their RV for couples, families or individuals who want to experience the beauty of our country in a relaxing nature. Also, for those concerned with never operating an RV... don't worry. The RV is very easy to drive and Vincent does an excellent job explaining how to operate the RV. If you have a question, he is only a friendly call away. We plan to rent the RV again.

Cabot Beach Provincial Park, PE, Canada
Cabot Beach sits near Malpeque on PEI's north shore, about a 45 to 55 minute drive (roughly 55 to 65 km) from Charlottetown via Route 2 and Route 20, and about 20 minutes north of Kensington. From the mainland, RVers typically enter PEI via the Confederation Bridge from New Brunswick, which has a height and wind advisory system and no stopping for RVs, then follow Route 1A and Route 2 north. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent trips is Charlottetown (YYG); most island roads are two-lane rural highways with no mountain passes, but watch for narrow shoulders, low-hanging trees on secondary roads, and seasonal farm equipment.
