A sandy designated swim area sits along the lakeshore within easy walking distance of the campground. The beach is open seasonally and has picnic tables nearby. There are no lifeguards on duty.
This short wooded loop runs along the lakeshore and through pine and hardwood forest typical of the Upstate Piedmont. It is a gentle walk suitable for most visitors and a good way to stretch after a drive. Interpretive signage highlights local ecology.
A longer loop trail winds through upland forest with modest elevation change and views of the lake through the trees. Expect roots and occasional muddy sections after rain. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water in summer.
The park has picnic shelters and open tables overlooking the water, ideal for a lakeside lunch between activities. Grills are available on a first-come basis. Shelters can be reserved in advance for larger groups.

Final approach roads are rural two-lane highways with no tunnels or steep mountain grades, making access straightforward for larger rigs, though drivers should watch for tight turns at the park entrance. The closest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Greenville-Spartanburg International (GSP), with Augusta Regional (AGS) as a smaller alternative.
