How to get to Channel Islands National Park

Ventura, located 70 miles north of Los Angeles, is the primary gateway and home to the visitor center and Island Packers ferry service. From Los Angeles International Airport (approximately 90 minutes away) or Santa Barbara Airport (approximately 60 minutes away), rent an RV and drive to Ventura Harbor. Ferry rides to the islands range from 1 hour (Anacapa Island) to 4 hours (San Miguel Island). Anacapa and Santa Cruz islands have year-round ferry service; Santa Rosa and San Miguel operate seasonally. RV parking is available at Ventura Harbor.

September and October offer the clearest skies and calmest seas, though fog is common from June through early August.
