The best time to visit is late spring through early fall, from April through October, when temperatures are moderate and road conditions are optimal for RV travel. Spring months offer wildflowers and mild weather, while fall provides pleasant daytime temperatures and lower crowds. Summer (June-August) brings intense heat exceeding 95 degrees, but the park remains open year-round. Winter months are cooler with occasional rain, making shoulder seasons ideal for RV camping.

Explore reconstructed buildings from the 1908 town, including the Allensworth Hotel, Hindsman General Store, and Allensworth Schoolhouse. Ranger-led tours can be scheduled in advance, and a visitor center with exhibits is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Walk the park's paved and unpaved trails that pass historic buildings with interpretive panels. Trails typically take less than two hours and offer a leisurely introduction to Allensworth history and the town layout.
Bicycles are welcome on all park trails and roads. The paved streets of the historic townsite are popular with cyclists exploring the preserved community.
The park provides dedicated picnic areas with tables and shade structures throughout the grounds, ideal for families and groups to enjoy meals while learning about the park's historical significance.
View exhibit panels about Allensworth's founders and pioneers, including displays depicting life in the 1910s town. The center also offers a virtual tour using augmented reality technology and digital animations.
Attend annual celebrations including Black History Month events, the Allensworth May Festival, Juneteenth Celebration, and Annual Rededication ceremonies, many featuring live music and food vendors.
always a pleasure renting from Ralph.

My fiancé and I had a great stay with this camper at Bass Lake. Pickup and drop-off were smooth; Ralph was very accommodating with our changing ETAs. If your vehicle requires a hitch pin that is longer than the standard length, like our Toyota Tacoma does, I would recommend bringing your own pin.
