Best time to visit Cook Forest State Park

Late May through early October is the prime window for RV travel, when campgrounds are fully open, the Clarion River is ideal for paddling, and daytime highs are comfortable. October brings peak fall foliage across the hardwoods and the park's busiest weekends, so reservations should be made well in advance. Spring shoulder season (April to early May) is quieter with cool nights and good trail conditions, while winter brings snow, icy roads, and reduced services.
