Late June through early September offers the warmest temperatures and the most reliable weather for shoreline exploration along the Bay of Fundy. July and August bring peak visitation but also the warmest ocean air and longest daylight hours. Shoulder months of May, June, and September are cooler but quieter, with fewer bugs after the early-summer blackfly and mosquito season. Winter visits are not recommended for RVs, as the park is unserviced and Annapolis Valley back roads can be icy and snow-covered.

Visitors can walk the rocky Bay of Fundy shoreline at Cottage Cove for sweeping ocean views and sea air. The coast features basalt outcrops, driftwood, and tidal pools typical of the Fundy shore.
The day-use area has picnic tables suited to a quiet clifftop picnic with Bay of Fundy views. Travellers should bring their own supplies as the park is unserviced.
The Bay of Fundy has some of the highest tides in the world, and Cottage Cove is a good spot to see the dramatic change between high and low water. Check tide tables before visiting to time your walk on the beach.
Low tide exposes a pebble and cobble beach where visitors often find sea glass, agates, and driftwood. Wear sturdy footwear as surfaces are uneven and can be slippery.
The clifftop offers open Bay of Fundy vistas suitable for sunset photography and seabird viewing. Fog is common on summer mornings, adding atmosphere to coastal shots.
The cove and nearby forest edge attract shorebirds, gulls, cormorants, and the occasional bald eagle. Bring binoculars and check seasonal migration timing for best viewing.

Cottage Cove Provincial Park, NS, Canada
The park sits on the Bay of Fundy shore of Annapolis County, roughly a two-and-a-half-hour drive northwest of Halifax via Highway 101 to Exit 18 or 19, then north on Route 362 or local roads to the shore road between Margaretsville and Port Lorne. From Halifax Stanfield International Airport, plan on about two and a half hours of driving depending on route. The final approach is via narrow, hilly rural roads with sharp descents toward the coast, so RV drivers should travel in daylight, use low gear on grades, and watch for wildlife. There are no significant mountain passes or tunnels, but fuel stops are limited near the shore, so top up in larger Valley communities like Middleton, Bridgetown, or Kingston before heading to the coast.
