    Indian River Inlet Beach is the park's signature swimming beach on either side of the inlet bridge. Lifeguards are on duty in summer, and day-use lots accommodate larger vehicles with advance arrival.

How to get to Delaware Seashore State Park

The park sits on Coastal Highway (Route 1) in Sussex County, Delaware, about 6 miles south of Rehoboth Beach and roughly a 2 to 2.5 hour drive from Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia. From the west, many RVers approach via US 50 and US 404 through Maryland's Eastern Shore, then connect to Route 1 southbound. RV drivers should watch for summer beach traffic on Route 1, low-clearance motels and signs in resort towns, and strong crosswinds on the Indian River Inlet Bridge. The nearest commercial airports for fly-and-rent trips are Salisbury Regional (SBY) in Maryland and Baltimore/Washington International (BWI).
