Spring (March to May) and fall (September to October) are the most comfortable seasons for RV travel, with mild temperatures, lower humidity, and dependable mountain-road conditions. Early to mid spring is especially popular when the Oconee bells bloom and waterfalls run full. Summer (June to August) brings warm, humid weather and peak boating crowds on Lake Jocassee, so reservations should be made well in advance. Winter is quieter and mild by regional standards, though occasional cold snaps and rain can affect lake activities.

Lake Jocassee is a deep, clear mountain reservoir accessed publicly only through Devils Fork State Park. RV visitors can launch boats, kayaks, and paddleboards from the park boat ramp to explore remote waterfalls and coves. Trailered-boat parking is available near the ramp.
This short interpretive loop showcases the rare Oconee bell wildflower, which blooms in early spring. The trail is easy and family-friendly, close to the main parking area. Signage highlights plant communities found in the Jocassee Gorges region.
Bear Cove Trail is a forested loop trail that passes through hardwood hollows and along sections near Lake Jocassee. The path offers gentle to moderate terrain suitable for a half-day hike. It departs from parking areas inside the park.
Devils Fork has a designated swimming area on Lake Jocassee with cool, clear mountain water. The beach is unguarded and seasonal use is popular in summer. Picnic tables and restrooms are nearby.
Lake Jocassee is stocked with trout and supports populations of smallmouth and largemouth bass. Anglers fish from boats, the shoreline near the ramps, and the park fishing areas. A South Carolina fishing license is required.
Several waterfalls flow directly into Lake Jocassee and are most easily reached by boat from the park launch. Popular destinations include Laurel Fork Falls and Wright Creek Falls. Boaters should check lake levels and weather before setting out.
The park sits on the edge of the Jocassee Gorges, a large conservation area of rugged Blue Ridge terrain. RV campers use Devils Fork as a base to explore nearby state parks, wildlife management areas, and scenic drives along SC Highway 11. Short side trips reach overlooks and trailheads in the region.

This was an incredible camping experience! It was the ideal way to camp, as we had always used tents before. It was fantastic that the RV was delivered and ready to use! There was ample space for my family to enjoy the room without feeling cramped. A big storm rolled in, and it was a great place to come together and use the appliances inside to cook dinner and watch a movie as a family. I highly recommend this rental for anyone seeking a great camping stay, and for anyone who has always wanted to try out the RV experience!

My Family and I had a Blessed Time camping with Friends! Thanks to Christian - His prompt professional actions/responses were exactly what we needed to elevate our weekend Fellowship! We had multiple RV vendors, we had multiple camp sites reserved near “Host” site and a variation of experiences - seasoned campers as well as beginners/virgin campers. The group voted Christian’s “Campsite Reserve” RV the overall Best!!! My Family 💯% Agree!!!

Devils Fork State Park, SC, United States
The park is located near Salem, South Carolina, off SC Highway 11 in the Blue Ridge foothills. It is roughly a 45 minute drive from Greenville and about 2 hours from both Asheville, North Carolina, and Atlanta, Georgia. RV drivers should plan for winding two-lane state roads with rolling grades in the final miles to the park; there are no major tunnels, but steep driveways and tight campground loops favor moderate-length rigs. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP).
