Late June through August offers the warmest lake temperatures, full campground operations, lifeguarded swimming, and the best conditions for beach days. Early June and September are quieter shoulder windows with cooler nights, fewer bugs, and easier site availability for RV travelers. Fall brings colorful foliage along the drumlin ridges but shorter daylight and cold lake winds. Winter access is limited, and the campground is closed during the off-season.

The park's main attraction is a long sandy beach on Lake Ontario with lifeguards during summer months. Paved day-use parking near the bathhouse can handle RVs and tow vehicles, and shaded picnic areas sit just behind the dune line.
A short trail system climbs to wooded bluff overlooks above Lake Ontario, offering sweeping views across the water. The paths are relatively level on top with some stairs and slopes down to the beach.
Sterling Pond provides calm water for kayaking, canoeing, and small-boat fishing within the park. A launch and parking area accommodate trailered boats, and rentals are sometimes available seasonally.
Little Sodus Bay is a popular spot for bass, perch, and panfish, with access to Lake Ontario for salmon and trout trolling. Public boat launches and marinas in the hamlet of Fair Haven sit just outside the park.
The protected wetlands around Sterling Creek and Sterling Marsh support herons, waterfowl, and songbirds, making the area a favorite for birders. Interpretive areas and quiet paths skirt the marsh edges.
Several miles of multi-use trails wind through drumlin forest, meadows, and along the waterfront within the park. Most routes are suitable for family hiking and casual cycling.
The park maintains playgrounds, ball fields, and a summer recreation program with activities for children and families. Facilities are clustered near the day-use and campground areas for easy walking access.
Kip was fantastic! Very responsive, flexible on delivery and pick up timing, and right on time! It took a lot of stress out of our travel to have someone so reliable. The RV was spacious and they set up an outdoor rug, chairs and a table for us. They also had bedding available. Highly recommend!

Fantastic rental! Everything was awesome and he was a great host. Very responsive. Easy to work with. The camper was perfect, very clean, everything worked and many of the little extras you dont always get.... coffee pods, dish detergents, hand soap, etc. Michael made everything easy. Will definitely recommend and use again.

Fair Haven Beach State Park, NY, United States
The park is off NY Route 104A in the hamlet of Fair Haven, about 40 miles west of Syracuse (roughly an hour) and about 55 miles east of Rochester (about an hour and 15 minutes). Most RVs reach the park via the New York State Thruway (I-90), exiting at Weedsport (Exit 40) and heading north on NY Route 34 to NY Route 104, both straightforward two-lane roads without tunnels or major mountain grades. Watch for narrow shoulders, a few tight turns near the waterfront, and seasonal farm traffic on the final approach. Syracuse Hancock International Airport is the nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers.
