Late May through early October is the prime window, when the campground is open, the swimming pool is typically staffed, and gorge trails are fully accessible. July and August offer the warmest weather and busiest weekends, so reservations fill quickly. Late September and early October bring vivid Finger Lakes fall foliage with cooler nights and thinner crowds, a strong pick for RV travel. Early spring trails can be icy or closed for safety after snowmelt.

The Gorge Trail is the park's signature hike, a stone-stepped route that follows Dry Creek past five waterfalls to a grotto-like amphitheater known as the Cowsheds. Expect stairs, wet stone, and mist near the falls. The trail is seasonal and typically closes in winter and early spring.
Rim trails run along the top of the gorge and connect with the Gorge Trail to form a loop of about three miles. Footing is forested and far less slippery than the gorge floor. These rims stay open longer in shoulder seasons than the gorge itself.
A seasonal swimming pool near the day-use area is filled with cool water from Dry Creek and staffed with lifeguards during the summer season. It is a popular stop after a warm hike in the gorge. Hours and opening dates vary each year.
Dry Creek is stocked with trout and offers accessible bank fishing within the park during New York's inland trout season. A valid New York State fishing license is required for anglers 16 and older. Parking is available at the day-use lots.
A roadside replica of the log cabin birthplace of President Millard Fillmore sits near the park entrance. It is a quick, flat stop suitable for any visitor and a good history break between hikes. Interpretive signage explains the connection to the local area.
Shaded picnic areas with CCC-era stone shelters and a playground sit near the pool and campground. Tables and grills are first-come, first-served, with larger pavilions reservable in advance. It is an easy base for families traveling by RV.
Owasco Lake's southern tip lies just north of the park and offers boat launches, lakeside parks, and access to the Finger Lakes wine trail. Auburn, about a half-hour north, adds the Harriet Tubman and Seward historic sites. Parking for larger vehicles is available at most lakefront day-use areas.
Matt was incredible from start to finish. Replies almost immediately to all messages and questions from time of booking, leading up to the trip and during your trip. The RV was immaculate on the outside, the entire cabin, refrigerator, bathrooms, etc. And it came with everything we would need for the trip. Was our first time staying in an RV - Matt showed up promptly when he said he would (even earlier), set up everything for our stay and walked me through everything we needed to know to use and enjoy the RV for a week. I would highly recommend Matt to anyone and would certainly book with him again!

Top notch experience! Kyle and his camper are both first class. The camper itself is gorgeous- plenty of room for my wife and I, daughter, son in law and grandson. This is a first class rig packed with all the goodies. Having 2 bathrooms was a big plus with 4 adults! We liked that it was chock full of cleaning supplies- Swiffer, cordless vac, etc. we could use daily just to spruce up. As far as Kyle goes- fantastic communicator, not only on drop off day but also leading up to the rental. A great experience all and all and we are looking forward to booking this camper for next year!

Fillmore Glen State Park, NY, United States
The park is just south of the village of Moravia on NY Route 38, about 30 minutes (25 miles) from Auburn, roughly 45 minutes (35 miles) from Ithaca, and about 1 hour (55 miles) from Syracuse. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Syracuse Hancock International Airport (SYR). Approaches from the south via NY Route 38 include rolling hills and a few steep, winding segments through the Finger Lakes drumlin country, so RV drivers should use low gears on descents and watch for tight turns in Moravia. There are no tunnels or toll roads on the direct approach.
