Late May through early October is the prime window, when the campground is fully open, the swim beach is staffed, and daytime highs are comfortable for hiking and paddling. June and September are ideal shoulder weeks for RVers looking to avoid peak summer weekends while still enjoying warm weather. Fall color typically peaks in mid-October and is excellent here thanks to the park's dense hardwood canopy. Winters are cold and wet, with limited campground services, so trip planning should focus on the warm-weather season.

A segment of Ohio's long-distance Buckeye Trail passes through Findley State Park, connecting to interior loops. Expect mostly flat, shaded walking through mature beech-maple forest.
The park's guarded swim beach sits on the west shore of the 93-acre lake. It features a sandy entry, shaded picnic tables, and a nearby bathhouse, with a large paved lot that accommodates RVs.
Findley Lake is stocked and managed for largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and channel catfish. Shoreline access is plentiful, and a boat ramp supports small craft with electric motors.
Electric-motor and paddle craft are welcome on the lake, making it an easy outing for canoes, kayaks, and small fishing boats. The no-gas-motor rule keeps the water calm and quiet.
Short interior loop trails wind through wetlands, pine plantations, and hardwood stands on the park's east side. They offer good birding opportunities in spring and fall migration.
Several shaded picnic areas with tables, grills, and reservable shelters sit near the beach and lake. The main lots are level and large enough for RV parking.
The park maintains a wooded disc golf course near the campground loop. Fairways wind between hardwoods and make for a relaxed afternoon activity steps from camp.
Jessica was great to work with and the camper was perfect for our weekend trip. I would definitely book again.

Great experience! Communication, pickup, drop off, & condition of the camper were all great! The trailer came with everything to make hook up to the site fast & easy. We loved the accommodations they left for pets, too! Highly recommend!

Findley State Park, OH, United States
The park lies about 40 miles southwest of Cleveland (roughly a 45 to 60 minute drive) and about 35 miles west of Akron. Most RVers approach via Interstate 71 or State Route 18 to State Route 58, a straightforward two-lane highway with no tunnels, mountain passes, or significant grades. Roads in the immediate area are rural and generally RV-friendly, though some county routes are narrow, so stick to SR 58 for the final approach. Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is the nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers, located about an hour north.
