Fort Ross State Historic Park, CA, United States
Fort Ross is located on California Highway 1, approximately 11 miles north of Jenner and 40 miles south of Fort Bragg. The nearest major city is Santa Rosa, about 80 minutes inland (46 miles); San Francisco International Airport is approximately 105 miles away (about 2 hours drive) for fly-and-rent options. Highway 1 is a narrow, winding coastal road with occasional hairpin turns and tight clearances, requiring careful navigation for larger vehicles. The park's campground access road is unpaved and not suitable for RV or trailer overnight parking due to tight turning radius.
Spring (April to May) offers abundant wildflowers, migrating birds, and mild weather, making it ideal for hiking and photography. Summer months (June to August) bring the clearest skies, warmest temperatures reaching the low 80s, and calm seas for wildlife viewing. Fall (September to October) provides pleasant conditions with fewer crowds. Winter (November to March) brings heavy rainfall and fog, with the tent campground closed from December through February, though day-use access remains available.

The perfect trailer for our trip. Amber and Aaron were great with communication and very flexible with us. Would highly recommend

Fantastic trip with Miss Retro! We rented Miss Retro for three nights during Thanksgiving to camp with friends in Olema CA - everything g was great! The van is well equipped for two, with a generous sized bed and well set up kitchen. The van was cozy for sleeping and hanging out and we prepped gravy and potatoes on the inside stove burners / Maria and Isaac were great hosts, communicative, friendly and everything was as described.

Isaac and Maria are excellent hosts. They explained and showed us everything about the van, both inside and out. They delivered it with absolutely everything you needed; you just need to bring your clothes. My wife and I made the trip to Death Valley and then to Zion National Park, and the van behaved better than a new vehicle. But the best of all is its excellent fuel economy, as well as the comfort due to its large interior space, where everything is properly located. It definitely gets a 100 out of 100.
