Late June through August offers the warmest weather, longest days, and reliable access to swimming, paddling, and evening campfires. Early September is a strong shoulder season for RVers who want cooler nights, fewer bugs, and quieter sites while services are typically still running. May and early June can be damp and buggy, and facilities may be limited before the full seasonal opening in mid-June. Travellers should confirm operating dates with Nova Scotia Provincial Parks before arrival.

The park features a freshwater swimming area along the Carleton River suitable for families. Shallow entry and a grassy day-use area make it easy to spend an afternoon between RV site and shoreline.
Canoeing and kayaking are popular on the calm river water that runs through the park. A boat launch provides easy access for small craft, and RV travellers can unload gear near the day-use parking area.
Anglers visit Glenwood for freshwater fishing on the Carleton River and connected lakes. A provincial fishing licence is required, and shoreline access is available from several points within the park.
Easy walking trails and campground loops wind through mixed Acadian forest. These paths are well suited to a morning stroll before moving on to other stops along the Acadian Shores.
The town of Yarmouth sits about a half hour south and offers waterfront dining, the Yarmouth County Museum, and the Cat ferry terminal. It is an easy day trip for RVers basing at Glenwood.
Cape Forchu sits on a rugged peninsula beyond Yarmouth and features an iconic applecore-shaped lighthouse, walking paths, and ocean views. The site has a large parking area that accommodates RVs and tow vehicles.
Kejimkujik National Park is roughly an hour and a half drive east and offers extensive hiking, paddling, and dark-sky programming. It pairs well with a multi-night stay at Glenwood for RVers touring southwestern Nova Scotia. parks.canada.ca/pn-np/ns/kejimkujik

Tyler's camper trailer was exactly the thing we needed for a family reunion in Cape Breton. From the initial contact in May to the contract completion in July, Tyler was easy to work with and accommodating. The trailer with upgraded mattresses is very comfortable, roomy and is easy to put up and take down. I will definitely keep Tyler and his trailer in mind for any future reunions. Thank you Tyler for a great experience.

Tyler was the perfect RVezy host. He delivered and set up his tent trailer in my son's driveway so I could have a quiet place to retreat to and sleep. Thoroughly enjoyed my week in his trailer and would recommend him to anyone needing a tent trailer in Nova Scotia or beyond. thanks Tyler it was a pleasure to meet you.

Glenwood Provincial Park, NS, Canada
The park sits in Yarmouth County in southwestern Nova Scotia, roughly a 25 to 30 minute drive north of Yarmouth via Highway 340, and a short drive from Exit 34 off Highway 101. From Halifax, plan on about a three and a half to four hour drive of roughly 300 km via Highway 101 through the Annapolis Valley. Roads are paved secondary highways with no major tunnels or steep mountain grades, but rural sections can be narrow with soft shoulders, so RV drivers should watch for slow-moving traffic and logging trucks. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent trips is Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ).
