Caldron Falls Flowage is the large reservoir bordering the park and is ideal for kayaking, canoeing, and small-boat exploration. Launch from the park's boat landing and explore quiet bays, islands, and forested shoreline. Watch for eagles, loons, and osprey.
The park has a network of hiking trails that loop through hardwood and pine forest and past small interior lakes. Trails range from short nature walks to longer loops of several miles. Trailheads have parking suitable for tow vehicles after unhitching.
Designated mountain bike trails wind through the park's wooded terrain with rolling hills and natural surface tread. The loops suit intermediate riders and are signed from the main park road. Helmets are recommended and trails may be closed when wet.
Anglers target walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike, and panfish in Caldron Falls Flowage, with quieter fishing available on the park's smaller Woods Lake. A Wisconsin fishing license is required. Shore fishing and boat fishing are both productive.
A sand swim area provides a family-friendly spot to cool off during summer. There is no lifeguard on duty, so swimmers should use caution. Picnic tables and grills make it a good midday stop for campers.
The mix of forest, wetlands, and water attracts white-tailed deer, black bear, beaver, and a wide variety of birds. Early morning and dusk are the best times to spot wildlife along trails and from the shoreline. Bring binoculars and keep a safe distance.
The park is a convenient base for touring Marinette County's waterfalls, including Dave's Falls, Long Slide Falls, and Twelve Foot Falls within roughly an hour's drive. Most waterfall county parks have short walking trails and basic parking areas. Unhitch and take the tow vehicle for easier access on narrow county roads.

The park is roughly 15 miles northwest of Crivitz via County Highway W and local park roads, and about 55 miles (around 75 minutes) northwest of Green Bay via US-41 and WI-141. From Milwaukee it is about a 3.5 hour drive north. RV drivers should expect narrow, tree-lined county roads on the final approach, with some tight turns and rolling grades but no mountain passes or tunnels. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB).
