Late April through early June and September through October offer the best balance of warm weather, active fishing, and smaller crowds for RV travel. Midsummer brings hot, humid days and peak lake traffic, so reservations and early arrivals are recommended at the busier campgrounds. Spring can bring severe thunderstorms and occasional high lake levels that affect lakeside sites, while mild fall weather is ideal for longer RV stays with fewer boaters on the water.

Grand Lake is one of Oklahoma's largest reservoirs and the park's main recreation hub for powerboating, pontooning, and waterskiing. Public ramps and marinas are located at or near several park areas, making it easy to launch from the campground.
Grand Lake is nationally known for largemouth bass, crappie, and catfish fishing. Shoreline fishing, lighted docks, and boat fishing are all productive, and anglers can fish year-round with an Oklahoma license.
Several Grand Lake State Park areas have designated swim beaches and shaded picnic areas along the shoreline. These day-use zones are popular with families and typically have paved parking that can accommodate tow vehicles.
The Honey Creek area near Grove offers lake access, a campground, and proximity to restaurants, marinas, and shopping. It is one of the most convenient bases for RVers who want services close at hand.
The Bernice area on the north end of the lake features a nature center and short interpretive walking trails through oak and hickory woods. It is a quieter, more wildlife-focused stop that suits RV travelers looking to slow down.
Pensacola Dam at Disney is the multiple-arch dam that impounds Grand Lake and is a local landmark with overlooks and a visitor area. A short drive from the Disney/Little Blue area of the park takes RVers to dam views and nearby lake towns.
The lake's many protected coves and inlets are well suited to kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards. Early mornings offer calm water before powerboat traffic picks up.
Was awesome to work with and very accommodating.

The RV was perfect! Brandon was very attentive and very quick to respond to any concerns or questions we had. He delivered and set up for us. He was very punctual and did exactly as he said he would. We had a great experience, this being the first time we have rented an RV. I highly recommend and will definitely be contacting Brandon again the next time we need one! Thank you once again Brandon for all your help!

Grand Lake State Park, OK, United States
Most RV travelers reach Grand Lake State Park from Tulsa, about 90 miles northeast via I-44 and US-59 or US-412, roughly a 1.5 hour drive. Joplin, Missouri is about an hour north via I-44 and US-59, and the Kansas City metro is around 3.5 to 4 hours away. Roads in the area are gentle rolling Ozark terrain with no major tunnels or mountain passes, but some county roads approaching lakeside campgrounds are narrow, winding, and can have low-clearance bridges, so larger rigs should stay on state highways until the final approach. Tulsa International Airport is the closest major airport for fly-and-rent RV trips.
