Mid-June through late August is the best window, offering long daylight hours, warm days suitable for swimming and paddling, and full campground operations. July typically brings the warmest temperatures and the most reliable road conditions for towing. Early September is a strong shoulder option with fewer bugs, fall colour in the boreal forest, and reduced crowds, though nights turn cold quickly. Avoid shoulder months of May and October when services are limited and overnight temperatures often drop below freezing.

Karst Spring Trail leads to one of the largest natural springs in Manitoba, where water bursts from a limestone hillside into a moss-lined stream. The out-and-back hike travels through shaded boreal forest and crosses boardwalks over wet terrain. RV parking is available at the trailhead pull-off on PR 391.
The Grass River canoe route follows a historic fur-trade waterway through a chain of lakes linked by short portages. Paddlers can choose day trips from road-accessible launches or multi-day wilderness traverses. Launch points at Iskwasum and Reed Lake have parking suitable for tow vehicles and trailers.
Reed Lake and Iskwasum Lake offer productive fishing for walleye, northern pike, and lake trout in clear Canadian Shield waters. Both lakes have boat launches accessible to RVers towing small boats. A Manitoba fishing licence is required.
Gyles Campground sits on Simonhouse Lake with a sandy swimming beach and a gentle shoreline suitable for families. The campground offers electrical sites that accommodate mid-size RVs. The adjacent day-use area has picnic tables and a boat launch.
Wekusko Falls, just outside Grass River park boundaries on PR 392, features twin suspension bridges over a dramatic cascade on the Grass River. The short interpretive trail is accessible in under an hour and offers dramatic photo opportunities. A paved parking lot accommodates RVs and trailers.
PR 391 through the park is a reliable corridor for spotting moose, black bear, bald eagles, and occasionally woodland caribou. Dawn and dusk offer the best viewing, with several pull-offs providing safe places to stop. Drivers should reduce speed and watch for wildlife on the roadway.
Iskwasum Lake Campground offers quiet, lakeside sites with access to swimming, paddling, and fishing. Sites are set among mature spruce and pine and some accommodate RVs with electrical hookups. A boat launch and basic amenities support longer stays.

Grass River Provincial Park, MB, Canada
The park sits along PTH 39 and PR 391 in north-central Manitoba, about 600 km (7 hours) north of Winnipeg and roughly 80 km (1 hour) east of Flin Flon via Cranberry Portage. The Pas is the nearest larger service town, about 170 km south via Highway 10 and PTH 39. RV drivers should fuel up in The Pas, Cranberry Portage, or Flin Flon since services are sparse between communities, and watch for wildlife, frost heaves, and gravel shoulders on secondary roads. The nearest airports for fly-and-rent trips are Thompson (YTH) and Flin Flon (YFO), with Winnipeg (YWG) the main hub for larger rental fleets.
