Late spring through early fall, roughly May to September, offers the driest weather, longest daylight, and calmest surf for beach days. July and August are peak season with warm afternoons in the 60s to low 70s Fahrenheit and busy weekends tied to nearby Ocean Shores. Shoulder months of April, May, and October are quieter and popular for razor clam digs when the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife opens the coast. Winter visits bring dramatic storm watching but frequent rain, strong wind, and short days.

More than a mile of wide sandy ocean beach runs the length of the park and is the main attraction. Firm sand near the waterline is ideal for long walks, beachcombing after high tide, and photographing driftwood.
Griffiths-Priday sits on one of Washington's most productive razor clam beaches and opens for digs scheduled by the state. Check Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife for approved dates, licenses, and tide windows before driving out.
The Copalis River flows into the Pacific along the park's southern edge, creating a shallow estuary popular for wading, beachcombing, and spotting shorebirds. Tides change the channel daily, so watch footing and rising water.
The park's protected dunes are nesting habitat for the federally threatened western snowy plover, along with sanderlings, sandpipers, and brown pelicans offshore. Stay on posted routes during spring and summer nesting season.
Steady onshore winds and open sand make the beach a favorite spot for kite flying. A grassy picnic area with tables and a restroom sits just behind the dunes near the parking lot.
Anglers fish the surf for surfperch and, in season, salmon near the Copalis River mouth. A Washington state fishing license is required and regulations vary by species and season.
Winter storms roll in off the Pacific with dramatic waves and driftwood pushed high on the beach. Dress for wind-driven rain and keep a safe distance from sneaker waves and unstable logs.

Griffiths-Priday Ocean State Park, WA, United States
The park sits off State Route 109 near Copalis Beach, about 22 miles northwest of Aberdeen and Hoquiam and roughly a 2.5 to 3 hour drive from Seattle or Tacoma via US 12 and SR 8. From the south, most RVers stage in Aberdeen then follow SR 109 along the coast, a flat two-lane highway with no tunnels or steep mountain passes, though crosswinds and soft shoulders near the dunes warrant caution in larger rigs. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), about 140 miles east. The day-use lot can accommodate RVs, but turning radius is limited, so arrive early on summer weekends.
