Best time to visit Hampton Beach State Park

Late June through August offers the warmest ocean water, full beach services, and the headline summer concert and fireworks schedule. Early June and September are strong shoulder-season choices with thinner crowds, easier parking, and milder daytime temperatures. RV travelers who want the full-hookup oceanfront campground should book well in advance, as peak summer dates fill quickly. Spring and late fall bring cool, breezy conditions and reduced services, with the RV park closed for the off-season.

How to get to Hampton Beach State Park

Hampton Beach sits on NH Route 1A, roughly a 10 to 15 minute drive from Interstate 95 Exit 2 in Hampton. Boston is about 55 miles south, around a 1 hour 15 minute drive via I-95, and Portsmouth, NH is about 15 miles north, roughly 25 minutes away. RV drivers should note that Route 1A is a narrow, busy coastal road in summer with tight parking and heavy pedestrian traffic, so approaching from I-95 via NH Route 101 East and NH Route 51 is generally the smoothest route. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Boston Logan International, with smaller service at Manchester-Boston Regional and Portland (Maine) Jetport.
