Late May through early September brings the warmest weather, open swim beach, and full campground services, making it the prime window for RV travel. June and July offer long daylight hours and reliable boating conditions, while August can be hot and humid with more insects. September and early October are excellent shoulder-season choices, with cooler nights, fall color in the surrounding hardwoods, and smaller crowds. Winter visits are limited as most facilities scale back and freezing temperatures can affect water service at campsites.

Harrison Lake's sandy swim beach is the park's main summer draw, with a roped swim area, picnic tables, and restrooms nearby. The beach is an easy walk from the campground and has a large paved parking area that fits tow vehicles after unhitching.
The Lake Trail loops along Harrison Lake's shoreline through mixed hardwood forest and is the most popular hike in the park. It offers quiet lake views, songbird habitat, and a flat surface suitable for most visitors.
Harrison Lake is stocked and managed for largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and channel catfish. Shore access is available near the dam, beach, and campground, and a boat launch supports electric-motor boats and paddle craft.
Paddling is one of the most relaxing ways to explore Harrison Lake, which limits motors to electric only for a quiet on-water experience. Kayaks, canoes, and small fishing boats can launch from the park's ramp.
A casual walk through the park's wooded campground loops is a good way to stretch after a drive. Paved interior roads are gentle and connect to picnic shelters, the beach, and short nature paths.
Harrison Lake's mix of water, woodlands, and adjacent farmland supports deer, waterfowl, songbirds, and raptors. Early morning walks along the lake trail or near quiet campground loops often produce the best sightings.
Shaded picnic areas near the beach and along the shoreline are set up with tables, grills, and shelters. Large paved lots make unhitching and stopping for lunch straightforward for RV travelers.
Friendly owner carefully explained every feature on the RV. Everything worked perfectly. Very clean and organized interior with every kind of supply (utensils, blankets, towels, cookware, games, etc, etc).

We loved this camper! Chris did an awesome job communicating and the delivery/set up at our campsite was so great and convenient! The AC was amazingly cold and the bed was comfortable. 10/10 would recommend to others!

Harrison Lake State Park, OH, United States
The park sits just north of Fayette, Ohio, in Fulton County, reached via State Route 66 and local roads off the Ohio Turnpike (I-80/I-90). Toledo is roughly 45 miles east, about an hour's drive, and Fort Wayne, Indiana is about 75 miles southwest, around 90 minutes away. Detroit is roughly 80 miles to the north. Access is on flat farm-country roads with no tunnels or steep grades, though RV drivers should watch for narrow rural routes, low shoulders, and tight turns near the park entrance. Toledo Express Airport (TOL) and Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) are the most convenient options for fly-and-rent travelers.
