The park's prime visiting season runs from May through October, when day-use areas are open and temperatures range from 15°C to 26°C (59°F to 79°F). Late May and early September offer ideal conditions with fewer insects and pleasant weather, while July and August attract paddlers with the warmest temperatures and longest daylight. September and early October provide excellent wildlife viewing and spectacular fall colors. Winter backcountry camping is possible for experienced paddlers, but designated campsites are closed December 1 through March 31 (campers must stay 30m from shorelines), making early April and November the accessible shoulder seasons for winter paddling.

Explore over 100 campsites connected by marked canoe routes and portages across pristine lakes and rivers. The park offers established paddling routes suitable for various skill levels, from day trips to multi-day wilderness expeditions.
A mostly easy day-hike that winds through forest alongside the scenic Mississauga River with opportunities for swimming and picnicking. Trailhead parking is available at the Porcupine access point.
A moderate day-hike showcasing classic Canadian Shield terrain with rugged rock formations, clear lakes, and mixed forest. The trail offers scenic lookout points and swimming opportunities.
A popular multi-day backcountry paddling route suitable for novice to intermediate canoeists. The 20 km loop features calm waters, beautiful wilderness scenery, and remote campsites, considered one of the park's premier paddling experiences.
The park's lakes and rivers support lake trout, brook trout, walleye, smallmouth and largemouth bass, and panfish. Fishing is available from boat and shore at various access points throughout the park.
Observe common loons, great blue herons, osprey, and diverse songbirds across the park's lakes and wetlands. The rock barrens attract species including whip-poor-wills and scarlet tanagers.
For experienced cold-weather campers, winter paddling and camping offer solitude and unique wilderness experiences. Designated campsites are closed December 1 through March 31, so campers must stay 30m from shorelines. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are available around access points.
