Best time to visit Kejimkujik National Park

Late June through early September offers the warmest weather, swimmable lake temperatures, and full campground and visitor services. September and early October bring crisp days, fewer bugs, and vivid Acadian-forest fall colour, making shoulder season ideal for quieter RV trips. Camping is available from Victoria Day weekend (mid-May) to the end of October, and camping is not permitted from November to Victoria Day weekend. Spring can be buggy and cool, so RVers often target July, August, and September.

How to get to Kejimkujik National Park

The park entrance at Maitland Bridge sits on Highway 8, roughly halfway between Annapolis Royal and Liverpool. Halifax is about 2.5 hours east via Highways 101 and 8, and Yarmouth is about 1.5 hours southwest. Roads are paved two-lane highways with no tunnels or major mountain passes, though Highway 8 is winding and narrow in spots, so RV drivers should watch for wildlife, logging trucks, and limited shoulder pull-offs. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ).
