Late June through August is the prime window, when ocean water in the lagoons often reaches the warmest temperatures in the Maritimes, campgrounds are fully open, and interpretive programs run daily. July and August offer the busiest beach scene at Kellys Beach, so reservations should be secured well in advance. Early September is an excellent shoulder season for RV travel, with mild days, fewer bugs, and easier site availability. Spring can be cool and wet, and many park services run on a reduced schedule before late May.

The Kouchibouguac and Kouchibouguacis rivers offer calm, scenic paddling through salt marshes and estuaries. More than 60 km of crushed-stone multi-use trails link campgrounds, beaches, and day-use areas, making cycling a signature Kouchibouguac experience. The flat terrain is suitable for families and casual riders. Bike rentals are available in-park at Ryans. parkscanada.gc.ca/en/pn-np/nb/kouchibouguac
The Osprey Trail is a 5.4 km loop through mixed Acadian forest to the shoreline of the Black River estuary. Hikers frequently spot osprey, bald eagles, and great blue herons from the shoreline lookout. Trailhead parking accommodates standard RVs. parkscanada.gc.ca/en/pn-np/nb/kouchibouguac
The Visitor Reception Centre is the park's information hub with two permanent exhibits on local ecology and cultural history. Kouchibouguac National Park, NB, Canada
The park entrance is on Route 117 off Highway 11, roughly 100 km north of Moncton (about a 1 hour, 15 minute drive) and about 85 km south of Miramichi. Highway 11 is a modern divided highway with gentle grades and no tunnels or weight-restricted passes, making it straightforward for any RV length. Fly-and-rent travelers typically use Greater Moncton Roméo LeBlanc International Airport (YQM) as the nearest major airport, with Miramichi Airport (YCH) offering a regional alternative. Expect narrow two-lane sections on Route 117 near the park gate and watch for moose and deer at dawn and dusk.
