Spring (April and May) and fall (late September through early November) offer the best RV weather, with comfortable daytime highs in the 70s F, cooler nights, lower humidity and strong fishing conditions. Summer brings warm lake swimming but also heat, humidity and afternoon thunderstorms, so sites with shade are at a premium. Winter is quiet and mild, with occasional cold snaps, and most facilities remain open year-round. Shoulder seasons are ideal for securing lakeside campsites without peak-weekend crowds.

Lake Greenwood is an 11,400-acre reservoir on the Saluda River known for largemouth bass, crappie, bream and catfish. The park maintains a public boat ramp, courtesy dock and fishing pier with RV-accessible trailer parking.
A small on-site museum interprets the work of the Civilian Conservation Corps and Works Progress Administration that shaped the park in the 1930s. Exhibits highlight New Deal-era construction still visible throughout the park.
Several miles of natural-surface trails wind through Piedmont forest and along Lake Greenwood's shoreline. Routes are suitable for walking, trail running and casual mountain biking.
Designated day-use areas offer picnic shelters, grills and shoreline access for wading and paddling. Shaded tables and large gravel lots accommodate RVs and tow vehicles.
The park's quieter coves are ideal for kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards, with easy launch points near the campgrounds. Morning paddles deliver the calmest water before afternoon boat traffic picks up.
Ninety Six National Historic Site is a short drive from the park and preserves Revolutionary War battlefields and the remains of the Star Fort. The visitor center has a large lot that accommodates RVs, with a one-mile interpretive trail on the grounds. nps.gov/nisi/
Mixed pine-hardwood habitat and lake frontage attract herons, ospreys, bald eagles, wood ducks and migrating songbirds. The shoreline trails and fishing pier are productive year-round viewing spots.
