Late June through early September is the best window, when the lake is warm enough for swimming and Nova Scotia's coastal weather is at its most reliable. July and August are peak season and offer the longest days and warmest water, while shoulder periods in June and September bring cooler temperatures, fewer visitors, and easier parking for larger rigs. Spring can be wet and buggy, and the park is not maintained for winter visits, so RV trips are best planned between the Victoria Day and Thanksgiving long weekends.

Swimming at the small freshwater beach is the main draw at Lake Midway Provincial Park. The lake warms nicely by July and is a good break from the colder Bay of Fundy and Atlantic waters nearby.
Picnic areas near the shoreline make the park a natural lunch stop for RV travelers touring southwestern Nova Scotia. Tables and shade trees give a quiet spot to enjoy a meal on the water.
Launch a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard from the park shore to explore the quiet freshwater lake. Calm conditions are typical in the morning, with wind picking up in the afternoon.
Digby is a short drive away and a top side trip for visitors to the park. The town is known for its scallop fleet, fresh seafood, and Bay of Fundy views at the wharf.
Digby Neck stretches southwest toward Long and Brier islands and is a popular route for whale watching, lighthouses, and coastal hikes. The drive from the park is scenic and well suited to a full-day outing.
The village of Weymouth lies east of the park along Highway 1 and the Sissiboo River estuary. It offers small-town shops, historic Acadian sites, and easy riverside strolls.
The quiet Acadian forest and lake edges attract loons, waterfowl, and songbirds. Early morning visits from the picnic area offer the best viewing.
This was our second year in a row renting this trailer and again, we had a great experience! Drop off and pick up were seamless, and Chris made sure we had everything we needed and more to ensure our stay was perfect! Great layout RV for a large family, clean and well equipped. We loved having the Blackstone for delicious meals!

Lake Midway Provincial Park, NS, Canada
The park is in Digby County in southwestern Nova Scotia, reached via local roads off Highway 101 and Highway 217. Digby is roughly a 15 to 25 minute drive away, Yarmouth is about 1 hour to the southwest, and Halifax is approximately 3 to 3.5 hours east along Highway 101. RV drivers should be aware that secondary roads in this area can be narrow, frost-heaved, and lined with trees, so slower speeds and careful turning are recommended; there are no major mountain passes or tunnels on the route. The nearest airports for fly-and-rent trips are Yarmouth (YQI) for regional access and Halifax Stanfield International (YHZ) for full service.
