The park operates seasonally, typically from late June through early September, which is also the warmest and busiest stretch on PEI. July and August deliver the warmest ocean temperatures, long daylight hours, and full campground services, making them ideal for families and beachgoers. Late June and the first weeks of September offer a quieter shoulder window with cooler nights, fewer mosquitoes, and easier reservations for larger RV sites. Outside the operating season the park is closed to camping.

A level walk along the park's saltwater frontage offers views across Bedeque Bay toward Summerside Harbour. The shoreline is ideal for beachcombing, birdwatching, and catching sunsets over the water.
The park's shallow, gently sloping beach on Bedeque Bay is suitable for wading and family swimming when tides are favourable. Water temperatures are warmest in late July and August.
Summerside sits on the Confederation Trail, PEI's 435 kilometre tip-to-tip rail-to-trail route. RV campers can drive into town, park, and ride crushed-stone sections through rolling farmland and small villages.
Summerside's harbourfront district is a short drive from the park and features the Eptek Art and Culture Centre, the College of Piping, and the Spinnaker's Landing boardwalk. It is a convenient rainy-day option for RV travelers.
About 40 kilometres north, Cabot Beach Provincial Park offers a sweeping red-sand beach on Malpeque Bay and easy RV access. It pairs well with a stop in the fishing village of Malpeque for oysters.
A scenic drive west along Route 11 leads through the Evangeline Region, PEI's Acadian heartland, with stops at Miscouche, Mont-Carmel, and the Acadian Museum. The route is paved and RV-friendly with roadside pull-offs.
The bay's mudflats and salt marshes attract great blue herons, cormorants, kingfishers, and migrating shorebirds in spring and late summer. Early morning from the park's shoreline offers the best viewing.

Linkletter Provincial Park, PE, Canada
Linkletter Provincial Park is located off Route 11 about 10 kilometres west of Summerside, roughly a 15 minute drive, and about 70 kilometres (one hour) west of Charlottetown via the Trans-Canada Highway (Route 1) and Route 1A. From the mainland, RVers arrive via the Confederation Bridge from Cape Jourimain, New Brunswick, about 50 kilometres or 45 minutes away. The bridge has wind restrictions for high-profile vehicles and tolls are collected only when leaving the island, so plan fuel and length accordingly. The closest airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Charlottetown Airport (YYG).
