Little Fish Lake Provincial Park is located approximately 43 kilometers east of Drumheller, Alberta, about 90 minutes from Calgary via Highway 2 north and Highway 564. From Drumheller, take Highway 573 east, then turn onto Highway 851 to reach the campground entrance within a few hundred meters. The rolling badlands terrain provides straightforward RV access with no mountain passes or steep grades, though early-season visitors should check current road conditions with 511 Alberta. The nearest airport is Calgary International Airport, approximately 130 kilometers away.
The campground operates from May 14 through September 15, with July and August offering the warmest weather and peak visitation. Late June through early August provides the most reliable dry conditions and best weather for fishing, boating, and hiking, though expect busier weekends during summer. Shoulder seasons in May and September offer pleasant temperatures between 4 and 20 degrees Celsius, with fewer crowds and excellent conditions for birding during waterfowl migration in the fall.

Little Fish Lake supports a large population of yellow perch and northern pike, with peak activity from late spring through early fall.
