Late June through August is the most popular window, when water temperatures in shallow Lake Manitoba are warm enough for swimming and campground services are fully open. July offers the longest daylight hours and the most consistent warm weather, but also the heaviest weekend demand. Shoulder-season trips in early June or September can be rewarding for RV travellers seeking quieter sites and cooler sleeping temperatures, though mosquitoes peak in early summer and lake winds pick up in the fall.

Swimming at the park's long sandy beach is the signature activity at Lundar Beach. The shallow, gradually deepening shoreline warms up quickly in summer and is well suited to families with children. No lifeguards are on duty.
Easy shoreline walks stretch along the west shore of Lake Manitoba. Visitors often spot driftwood, freshwater shells, and shorebirds working the wet sand. The terrain is flat and accessible from the day-use parking area.
The marshy Lake Manitoba shoreline attracts pelicans, cormorants, gulls, terns, and a variety of ducks and shorebirds. Spring and fall migrations bring additional species through the Interlake flyway. Bring binoculars and check the quieter edges of the beach at dawn or dusk.
Lake Manitoba is a productive fishery for walleye, northern pike, sauger, and yellow perch. Shore casting is possible from the beach, and boaters can launch at nearby access points along the west shore. A valid Manitoba angling licence is required.
The day-use area offers shaded picnic tables, open grass, and easy beach access for non-campers. It is a convenient stop for RV travellers on a Highway 6 road trip. Facilities include vault toilets and potable water.
The Narcisse Snake Dens, about an hour's drive east, are the largest concentration of red-sided garter snakes in the world. Spring emergence (late April to mid-May) and fall return (early September) are the best viewing windows. A self-guided interpretive trail links the dens.
The low-population Interlake region offers dark skies with minimal light pollution. On clear nights the Milky Way is easily visible from the beach. Bring a blanket or camp chair and dress warmly even in summer.
We enjoyed our experience. Lots of room. The grandkids had so much fun camping.

Really great experience. Owner was very helpful, set everything up, and took the time to answer any questions we had as first time RV renters as well as made themselves available for any questions or concerns during our stay. RV was clean and had the essentials and a good amount of space for our family. We have no complaints and would use this RV again!

Lundar Beach Provincial Park, MB, Canada
Lundar Beach is roughly a 1.5 to 2 hour drive north of Winnipeg, following Highway 6 to PR 419 east toward the lake. The route is flat prairie driving with no tunnels, mountain passes, or steep grades, making it easy for first-time RV renters. Access roads into the park are paved to gravel and suitable for standard motorhomes and travel trailers, though drivers should watch for soft shoulders after heavy rain. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent travellers is Winnipeg Richardson International Airport (YWG).
