Late May through early October is the best window for RV travel to Lyman Run, with the swimming beach typically open from Memorial Day through Labor Day and the campground operating on a seasonal schedule from mid-April to mid-October. July and August bring warm days ideal for lake activities but also the busiest weekends. Early fall offers cool nights, thinning crowds, and strong foliage color across the Susquehannock State Forest. Shoulder-season visitors in April, May, and October should expect cold nights and the possibility that water is shut off at some facilities.

The sand swimming beach on Lyman Run Lake is the park's main summer draw. It operates on a swim-at-your-own-risk basis during the posted season from late spring through early fall, with RV-friendly day-use parking nearby.
Lyman Run Lake is restricted to electric motors, making it a calm venue for kayaks, canoes, and small fishing boats. A concrete boat launch and parking area sit on the north shore within easy reach of the campground.
Lyman Run Lake and Lyman Run itself are stocked with trout by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. Shore fishing is popular around the dam and along the lake's grassy banks, and a Pennsylvania fishing license is required.
This moderate hiking loop within the park traces the footprint of an old splash dam used in the region's logging era. It offers a quiet woodland walk with interpretive history and links into the surrounding Susquehannock State Forest trail network.
The park is a convenient trailhead area for the Susquehannock Trail System, an 85-mile backpacking loop through the surrounding state forest. Day hikers can sample scenic sections without committing to the full loop, and RV parking is available at park lots.
Cherry Springs State Park, one of the darkest places in the eastern United States, sits about 15 miles east of Lyman Run and makes an easy evening side trip. Many RV travelers base at Lyman Run and drive over for stargazing programs on clear nights.
The gravel roads and multi-use trails of the Susquehannock State Forest surrounding the park offer extensive options for mountain bikes and gravel bikes. Riders can start directly from the campground and explore quiet forest roads with minimal traffic.
Was very accommodating with pick up time and helped hookup it was a little later than expected but went over camper details. Had everything in description and we needed. Went to Watkins where the weather was challenging but the camper worked out great. Very understanding with the situation when we got back. I couldn’t ask for a better experience renting a camper from them. If available for other experiences near the area will rent again

This camper was great! It was set up so well for us, and the communication between myself and owners was amazing. The entire process was seamless and even though the weather was a complete bust for our trip, we enjoyed the convenience and comfort of the camper!

Lyman Run State Park, PA, United States
The park lies about 9 miles west of Galeton, Pennsylvania, reached via US Route 6 and then a series of winding state forest roads. From Williamsport the drive is roughly 90 miles and about 2 hours, while Buffalo, New York is approximately 150 miles to the northwest and State College is around 100 miles south. RV drivers should be prepared for narrow, hilly, and sometimes gravel access roads with steep grades and limited pull-offs, so larger rigs should plan routes carefully and avoid shortcuts on unpaved forest roads. The nearest regional airports for fly-and-rent trips are Elmira, New York and Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
