July and August deliver the warmest, driest weather for swimming at the sandy beach and exploring nearby Mount Revelstoke National Park. June and September serve as quieter shoulder months with cooler temperatures, fewer crowds, and easier campsite availability for RV travellers. Late spring can bring lingering rain and higher reservoir levels, while October weather turns cold and wet as most services close for the season.

The park features a 300 m sandy, pebbled beach on Lake Revelstoke reservoir suitable for swimming and sunbathing. Cool to refreshing water along the flat beach provides excellent swimming and sunbathing opportunities, and this is one of the few sandy beaches in the area. There is no roped off swimming area and no lifeguards are on duty. bcparks.ca/martha-creek-park/
Anglers can fish from shore, the wharf, or by boat on the reservoir. Rainbow and bull trout can be found here, and the reservoir is very popular with local anglers. A valid BC freshwater fishing licence is required. bcparks.ca/martha-creek-park/
Martha Creek is a popular launching point for boaters on the reservoir. A wharf and paved boat launch serve the campsites and day-use area. Canoeing and kayaking opportunities are possible but mostly powerboats use the park. bcparks.ca/martha-creek-park/
A paved scenic drive climbs from near Revelstoke into alpine wildflower meadows. Especially popular is the paved Summit Road into the wildflower meadows and alpine of Mount Revelstoke. A free shuttle carries visitors from Balsam Lake to the summit in peak season since long RVs and trailers are not permitted past Balsam Lake. parks.canada.ca/pn-np/bc/revelstoke
The park has a well-developed day-use zone built around the beach and sport field. Facilities include an adventure playground, indoor picnic shelter and a large sport field, complete with a volleyball net. It makes a solid midday stop for RV travellers passing through the Columbia River corridor. bcparks.ca/martha-creek-park/
Nearby Mount Revelstoke and Glacier National Parks in the rugged Selkirk Mountains offer a wide range of activities. Glacier National Park lies roughly an hour east of Revelstoke along the Trans Canada Highway through Rogers Pass. Day hikes, the Rogers Pass Discovery Centre, and mountain viewpoints are all accessible from highway pull-offs. parks.canada.ca/pn-np/bc/glacier
Revelstoke is a 20 km drive south of the park and offers restaurants, grocery resupply, and the Revelstoke Railway Museum. The compact downtown is easy to visit from the campground as an afternoon outing. Larger RV parking is available on the outskirts near Highway 1.
This was an amazing experience. They were very easy to deal with, and quick to answer any questions we had. The camper has everything we needed and was extremely clean. I would definitely recommend.

Martha Creek Provincial Park, BC, Canada
The park is accessed from Highway 23, a 15 minute, 20 km drive north of Revelstoke. Revelstoke sits on the Trans Canada Highway (Highway 1) roughly 2.5 hours west of Banff, Alberta and about 6.5 hours east of Vancouver, BC. RV drivers should prepare for steep grades and long mountain passes on Highway 1 through Rogers Pass and Eagle Pass, plus winter tire or chain requirements in shoulder seasons. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Kelowna International Airport (YLW), about 3.5 hours southwest.
