Late June through early September offers the warmest, driest weather and the longest daylight hours, making it the prime window for RV travellers on the Stewart-Cassiar Highway. July and August bring peak traffic of northbound travellers heading to Alaska, so reservations are recommended on summer weekends. Shoulder seasons in May and September can be quieter and scenic, but expect cool nights, possible snow at higher elevations on nearby passes, and limited services in surrounding communities.

The park's campground sits directly on the shore of Meziadin Lake with 66 sites laid out to handle everything from bicycles to very large RVs. Facilities include tent pads, picnic tables, fire rings, pit toilets, a picnic shelter, food cache, and a drinking-water hand pump. bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/meziadin_lk/
Meziadin Lake offers quality lake fishing with rainbow trout and Dolly Varden as the main species. A boat launch is located in the campground, and anyone fishing in British Columbia must hold an appropriate licence. bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/meziadin_lk/
The park is an excellent location for canoeing or kayaking, with beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. A gravel, moderate-grade single-wide boat launch is available, and boats can be tied to the small dock when space allows. bcparks.ca/explore/parkpgs/meziadin_lk/
In late summer, spawning sockeye salmon make their way up creeks near the park, giving anglers and wildlife watchers a chance to see the salmon run up close. The Hanna-Tintina watersheds are provincially significant for grizzly bear habitat, so practice bear-aware behaviour when viewing. bcparks.ca/hanna-tintina-conservancy/
The park serves as a base camp for day trips west on Highway 37A to Bear Glacier and the historic mining towns of Stewart, B.C. and Hyder, Alaska. The roadside glacier viewpoint is a classic stop for travellers on the Stewart-Cassiar route. bcparks.ca/meziadin-lake-park/
Swimmers can take a dip in the cool lake waters within the designated swimming area. There are no lifeguards on duty at BC Parks, so supervise children closely. bcparks.ca/meziadin-lake-park/
The park contains high-value grizzly bear habitat, and black bears are also commonly seen in the area. Keep a safe distance, store food in provided caches, and report any bear incident to the RAPP line. bcparks.ca/meziadin-lake-park/

Meziadin Lake Provincial Park, BC, Canada
The park is reached via Highway 37 (the Stewart-Cassiar Highway), roughly 155 km (about a two-hour drive) north of Kitwanga and 50 km east of Stewart. From Terrace, allow around four to five hours via Highway 16 and Highway 37; from Prince George, plan on a full day of driving. RV drivers should prepare for long stretches between fuel stops, narrow shoulders, patches of gravel or chip-seal, and wildlife on the road, and should carry a spare tire as services are sparse. The nearest airports for fly-and-rent trips are Terrace-Kitimat (YXT) and Smithers (YYD).
