Late June through August offers the warmest weather, full campground services, and the best river and ocean swimming in the region. Early September is a strong shoulder window for RV travellers, with cooler nights, lower mosquito pressure, and quieter sites after Labour Day. Spring visits in May and early June can be cool and wet, and the campground is typically closed outside the summer operating season.

The park maintains a freshwater swimming area along the Mill River with a sandy beach and shallow entry. It is a family-friendly spot close to the campground loop.
The tidal Mill River offers sheltered paddling past wooded banks and salt marsh. Launches are available within the park, and paddlers can explore upstream and downstream depending on the tide.
The adjacent Mill River Golf Course is one of PEI's best-known championship courses, carved through forest and along the river. It is within walking distance of the provincial park campground.
Short wooded trails within the park wind through Acadian forest along the river. They are suitable for easy strolls from the campground and good for birdwatching.
The Confederation Trail, PEI's tip-to-tip rail-trail, passes through nearby western PEI communities. The flat crushed-stone surface is well suited to casual cyclists staying at the park.
West Point Lighthouse on the Northumberland Strait is a short drive south of the park and offers a red-sand beach and historic lighthouse museum. It is a popular day trip on the North Cape Coastal Drive.
At the island's northwestern tip, North Cape features a lighthouse, reef walk at low tide, and wind energy interpretive centre. It is roughly a 45 minute drive from the park and offers RV-friendly parking.
Was exactly as described. Really easy to deal with

All previous five star reviews are accurate! Kyle and Connie are lovely people who take the time to ensure you know how to operate all aspects of Sgt Meep. We are total newbies with lots of questions and Kyle patiently answered every one. The RV had absolutely everything we could need, including a spotless, well maintained interior. We are considering a future purchase and they took their time to answer so many additional questions that were totally unrelated to the rental. Good people with a fabulous RV. Thanks for sharing Sgt. Meep with us. Heather & Dave

We truly enjoyed renting Vincent's RV for six nights. It was equipped well beyond our needs. They (Vincent and his lovely wife) thought of everything. We highly recommend their RV for couples, families or individuals who want to experience the beauty of our country in a relaxing nature. Also, for those concerned with never operating an RV... don't worry. The RV is very easy to drive and Vincent does an excellent job explaining how to operate the RV. If you have a question, he is only a friendly call away. We plan to rent the RV again.

Mill River Provincial Park, PE, Canada
The park sits in western Prince County, roughly a 15 minute drive from O'Leary and about 90 minutes (around 120 km) northwest of Charlottetown via the Trans-Canada Highway and Route 2. From the Confederation Bridge at Borden-Carleton the drive is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes. RV drivers should note that PEI has no mountain passes or tunnels, but the Confederation Bridge has wind restrictions that can affect high-profile vehicles, and some rural routes are narrow with soft shoulders. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Charlottetown (YYG).
