The park is about 12 miles east of Ashdown on Arkansas Highway 32 and roughly 30 miles northeast of Texarkana, a drive of about 45 minutes. From Hot Springs it is about 120 miles south, around 2.5 hours, and from Little Rock about 160 miles southwest, around 3 hours. Access roads are paved, flat Gulf Coastal Plain highways with no tunnels or mountain passes, making the route friendly for large RVs, though drivers should watch for low-hanging limbs on the final park road and for bridge weight postings on rural county routes. The nearest commercial airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Texarkana Regional Airport (TXK), with Shreveport Regional (SHV) and Little Rock (LIT) as larger alternatives.
