Late July and August are the prime window, when the summit wildflower meadows peak and the full length of the Meadows in the Sky Parkway is open to the Balsam Lake area. September offers cooler temperatures, thinner crowds, and golden larch and subalpine colour, though higher trails can see early snow. June and early July are good for low-elevation rainforest boardwalks while the upper parkway is still melting out. Winter shifts the park to ski touring and snowshoeing, as the parkway is closed to vehicles above the lower gate.

The Meadows in the Sky Parkway is a 26 km paved scenic road that climbs from the Trans-Canada Highway to the subalpine near the summit of Mount Revelstoke. Drivers gain roughly 1,500 m through switchbacks, with pullouts and interpretive stops along the way. A summer shuttle runs from Balsam Lake to the upper meadows, since the final kilometre is closed to private vehicles. parkscanada.gc.ca/en/pn-np/bc/revelstoke
Giant Cedars Boardwalk is a short, fully accessible loop through old-growth western red cedar and hemlock forest just off the Trans-Canada Highway. The flat boardwalk runs about 500 m and is suitable for all ages, with a large paved pullout that accommodates RVs. Interpretive panels explain the inland temperate rainforest ecosystem.
Skunk Cabbage Boardwalk is a 1.2 km elevated walk through a rich wetland along the Illecillewaet River. Visitors can spot namesake skunk cabbage blooms in spring, songbirds, and signs of beaver activity. The highway-side trailhead has RV-friendly parking.
Eva Lake Trail is a 12 km return subalpine hike from the Balsam Lake parking area to a turquoise lake beneath Mount Williamson. The route passes through wildflower meadows and open ridgelines with sweeping Selkirk and Monashee views. A backcountry shelter sits at the lake for day-users to shelter from weather.
Miller Lake Trail branches off the Eva Lake route to reach a small alpine tarn in roughly 12 km return. Expect steady elevation gain on rocky terrain, with high-country wildflowers in midsummer. Hikers should carry bear spray and extra layers.
First Footsteps is a short interpretive loop near the summit of Mount Revelstoke celebrating Indigenous connections to the land, with carved cedar posts set among wildflowers. Connecting paths lead to the old fire lookout and 360 degree views of the Columbia and Selkirk ranges. The area is reached via shuttle or a short walk from the upper parkway.
Inspiration Woods is a forested 1.5 km loop near the base of the Meadows in the Sky Parkway, offering a shaded walk among cedar and hemlock. It works well as a leg-stretcher for travellers stopping along the Trans-Canada Highway. The trailhead has room for standard vehicles; larger rigs should park at the lower parkway lot.
Snowforest Campground is the park's only front-country campground, located at the base of the Meadows in the Sky Parkway. Sites are unserviced and set in old-growth forest, with potable water, flush toilets, and fire boxes in season. It makes a practical basecamp for exploring both Mount Revelstoke and nearby Glacier National Park. parkscanada.gc.ca/en/pn-np/bc/revelstoke

Mount Revelstoke National Park, BC, Canada
The park entrance sits on the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) at the north edge of Revelstoke, BC. Kelowna is roughly a 2.5 hour drive southwest, Kamloops about 2.5 hours west, and Calgary around 5 hours east over Rogers Pass and the Kicking Horse Pass corridor. RV drivers should plan for steep mountain grades, long passes, winter tire and chain requirements from October through April, and the switchback climb on the Meadows in the Sky Parkway, which restricts larger RVs and trailers above the lower gate. The nearest major airports for fly-and-rent trips are Kelowna (YLW) and Calgary (YYC).
