Best time to visit Nolin Lake State Park

Late April through June and September through mid-October are the best windows for RV travel, with mild temperatures, lower humidity, and fewer biting insects than midsummer. July and August bring the busiest boating and swimming season, so reservations are recommended well in advance. Shoulder-season visits in spring and fall pair well with day trips to nearby Mammoth Cave, and fall foliage along the lake typically peaks in mid to late October. Winter is quiet and cold, with limited services.

Justin made the trip super smooth for our family. He was very responsive and timely. Delivered the camper right to our campsite and set the whole thing up for us. He gave a walkthrough of everything and made us feel comfortable for our trip. The camper was stocked with so many things that came in handy. From fire starters, to spices, utensils, towels, and linens, it was awesome. Highly highly recommend Justin and his camper!

How to get to Nolin Lake State Park

The park sits near Bee Spring, Kentucky, in Edmonson County, about 25 miles northwest of Mammoth Cave National Park headquarters and roughly 90 miles south of Louisville (about a 1 hour 45 minute drive). Bowling Green is about 45 miles south, roughly an hour by RV. Access is via rural two-lane Kentucky state routes with some rolling grades, narrow shoulders, and tight turns near the lake, so larger rigs should plan routes carefully and watch for low-clearance rural bridges. The nearest major commercial airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF); Nashville International (BNA) is about two and a half hours south.
