The park's freshwater swimming area offers a sandy entry and shallow water suited to families. It is within walking distance of the campground loops, so RVers can leave the rig parked.
Short walking trails wind through boreal forest and along the coastline near the park. Trails are well marked and suitable for casual hikers staying in the campground.
Lewisporte is a short drive from the park and offers a marina, waterfront boardwalk, shops, and restaurants. It is the largest service town in the Bay of Exploits region.
Twillingate, about an hour north, is one of the top iceberg-viewing destinations in Newfoundland. Boat tours operate in summer and several operators have large parking lots that accommodate RVs.
The lighthouse sits on dramatic cliffs above the Atlantic and offers wide ocean views and seasonal iceberg spotting. A paved lot provides parking suitable for smaller RVs and trailers.
This provincial historic site interprets the culture of the Beothuk people and includes a short interpretive trail to an archaeological site. The visitor centre has a gravel lot with room for RVs.

Notre Dame Provincial Park, NL, Canada
The park is reached via Route 340 near Lewisporte, about a 10 to 15 minute drive from town. From Gander it is roughly 60 km (about 45 minutes) west on the Trans-Canada Highway (Route 1) and Route 340, and from St. John's it is around 430 km (4.5 to 5 hours). RV drivers should watch for narrow shoulders, frost heaves, and moose on Newfoundland highways, especially at dawn and dusk. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent travellers is Gander International Airport (YQX).
