Late June through early September offers the warmest, driest weather and the most reliable beach days, though campsites book out quickly on weekends. May, early June, and September are strong shoulder-season choices for RV travelers who want cooler temperatures, fewer crowds, and easier reservations. Spring razor clam digs and fall storm-watching draw seasonal visitors, while winter stays are quieter with frequent rain and wind off the Pacific.

A short sandy trail from the campground leads through dunes and shore pine to miles of open Pacific beach. The wide, flat sand is popular for walking, kite flying, and beach driving where permitted.
Seasonal razor clam digs on the North Beach are a signature activity at Ocean City. Dig openings are announced by Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, and diggers need a current shellfish license.
The surf line fronting the park is open to recreational fishing and crabbing in season. Anglers target surfperch and sea-run cutthroat with a Washington fishing license.
Ocean City's dunes, wetlands, and shoreline attract shorebirds, waterfowl, and raptors year-round. Spring and fall migrations bring the most diversity, including sandpipers, plovers, and bald eagles.
Winter Pacific storms draw visitors to the exposed coast for dramatic surf and driftwood-strewn beaches. The campground stays open year-round, making it a practical base for storm-season trips.
The resort town of Ocean Shores sits just south of the park with restaurants, shops, and the Oyhut Wildlife Area at the jetty. It is a short, flat drive suitable for towed vehicles or larger RVs.
Damon Point, south of the park near Ocean Shores, is a sand spit known for snowy plover habitat, agate hunting, and jetty views. Trailhead parking can accommodate smaller RVs and tow vehicles.

Ocean City State Park, WA, United States
From Seattle, the park is roughly a 2.5 to 3 hour drive (about 140 miles) via I-5 south to Olympia, then US-101 and SR-8/SR-12 west to Aberdeen and Hoquiam, followed by SR-109 to Ocean City. Portland travelers reach the park in about 3.5 hours via I-5 north and US-101/SR-8 west. Roads are flat coastal highways with no tunnels or steep mountain passes, but SR-109 is a two-lane route with gusty coastal winds that can affect high-profile RVs. The nearest major airports for fly-and-rent trips are Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA) and Portland International (PDX).
