Late spring through early fall, roughly May to October, is the best window for RV travel, with warm days, open campgrounds, and reliable access to rafting outfitters and the Great Allegheny Passage. June through August brings peak crowds and weekend traffic in the borough of Ohiopyle, so midweek arrivals are easier for larger rigs. Spring wildflowers and autumn foliage offer the best scenery of the year. Winter visits are possible for day use, but campground services are limited and mountain roads can be icy.

Ohiopyle State Park, PA, United States
Ohiopyle State Park sits in southwestern Pennsylvania about 65 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, roughly a 90-minute drive via I-76 and PA Route 381. From Morgantown, West Virginia, the park is about 50 miles north, around an hour and 15 minutes. RV drivers should be cautious on PA 381 and SR 2010 through the borough of Ohiopyle, where streets are narrow, grades are steep down into the river gorge, and parking for large rigs near the falls and rail-trail is limited. Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) is the closest major airport for fly-and-rent travelers.
