Late May through early October is the most comfortable window for RV travel, with daytime highs generally in the 70s F and the campground fully open. July and August are peak season for swimming, tubing, and family camping, so reservations fill quickly on weekends. Spring brings strong trout fishing on Kettle Creek, while September and early October offer cool nights and vivid fall foliage across the surrounding Susquehannock State Forest. Winters are long, snowy, and cold, which limits RV camping and access.

Kettle Creek runs through the park and is a well-known trout stream stocked by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission. Anglers can wade directly from several creekside pull-offs near the campground.
This short but steep trail climbs from the day-use area to the stone ruins of Ole Bull's Castle, a lookout built by the park's namesake. The overlook offers a view up the Kettle Creek valley.
A forested loop trail that climbs the slopes above the campground through mixed hardwoods and hemlocks. It provides a quieter hiking option close to the RV sites.
Designated swimming is permitted in a marked section of Kettle Creek during the summer season. The shallow, rocky creek is also popular for wading and float tubing.
The 85-mile Susquehannock Trail System passes close to the park within the surrounding state forest. Day hikers can sample sections for longer backcountry walks without leaving the area.
Ole Bull sits within the Pennsylvania Wilds dark-sky region with very little light pollution. On clear nights the Milky Way is visible directly from the campground and day-use field.
The park's day-use area along Kettle Creek offers picnic tables, grills, and open lawn space. Large paved pull-offs make it practical for RV day trips from nearby campgrounds.
Was very accommodating with pick up time and helped hookup it was a little later than expected but went over camper details. Had everything in description and we needed. Went to Watkins where the weather was challenging but the camper worked out great. Very understanding with the situation when we got back. I couldn’t ask for a better experience renting a camper from them. If available for other experiences near the area will rent again

This camper was great! It was set up so well for us, and the communication between myself and owners was amazing. The entire process was seamless and even though the weather was a complete bust for our trip, we enjoyed the convenience and comfort of the camper!

Ole Bull State Park, PA, United States
The park lies on PA Route 144 between Cross Fork and Oleona in Potter County, roughly a 3.5 to 4 hour drive from Pittsburgh, about 4 hours from Philadelphia, and around 2.5 hours from Williamsport. Approaches from the south and east cross the Allegheny Plateau on winding two-lane roads with steep grades and sharp curves, so RV drivers should plan for slow travel, check brakes, and avoid narrow shortcuts suggested by GPS. Cell service is spotty throughout the region, so downloading maps in advance is recommended. The nearest commercial airports for fly-and-rent trips are Williamsport Regional (IPT) and University Park Airport (SCE) near State College.
