Late June through August offers the warmest weather, swimmable water at Nicolet Bay, and full operation of the campgrounds, golf course, and Northern Sky Theater. September and early October are excellent shoulder seasons for RV travel, with cooler nights, fall color along the Skyline Road bluffs, and lighter traffic on Highway 42. May and early June are quieter but bugs and cool lake breezes are common. Winter brings snowmobile and ski trails, but most campground loops and water systems close.

Eagle Tower is a 60-foot timber observation tower at the top of Eagle Bluff with views over Green Bay, Horseshoe Island, and the Niagara Escarpment. A long accessible ramp lets visitors of all abilities reach the deck. RV-friendly parking is available at the Eagle Tower trailhead lot.
Eagle Bluff Lighthouse is an active 1868 navigational light operated as a museum by the Door County Historical Society. Guided tours run during the warmer months and explain keeper life on the bay. The parking lot accommodates standard tow vehicles and most Class C motorhomes.
Nicolet Bay Beach is a sandy swimming beach on Green Bay with a concession stand and rental kiosk for kayaks, paddleboards, and bikes. It is the warmest swimming spot inside the park. The day-use lot has space for RVs and trailers.
The Sunset Trail is a roughly 5-mile crushed-limestone path that connects Tennison Bay, Nicolet Bay, and the north park entrance through forest and wetlands. It is popular for cycling and easy walking. Trailheads near the campgrounds make it ideal for RV campers without needing to drive.
Eagle Trail is a 2-mile loop that descends the limestone face of Eagle Bluff to the Green Bay shore and back up. It is the most rugged hike in the park, with rocky footing and steep stair sections. Park at the Eagle Tower or Eagle Terrace lots, both of which fit standard tow vehicles.
Skyline Road runs along the top of Eagle Bluff with pull-offs overlooking Green Bay and the offshore islands. It is a popular short scenic drive and biking route. Larger motorhomes should note the curves and use designated overlook pull-offs rather than parking on the shoulder.
The Peninsula State Park Golf Course is an 18-hole public course set among hardwoods inside the park, with views toward Eagle Harbor. Tee times are reservable in season. A dedicated clubhouse lot has space for tow vehicles.
Northern Sky Theater stages original outdoor musicals at an amphitheater inside the park during summer evenings. Performances draw audiences from across Door County. Arrive early, as parking fills quickly on weekends.
The camper was perfect for our camping trip. The camper was clean and clearly well maintained. The bunks were great for the kids and the queen bed was perfect for adults. The add-on grill was fantastic for cooking. Justin and his wife set up on our site, then we were ready to camp! Communication was excellent. Justin was a fantastic host! Thanks.

Justin was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Great communication and everything was exactly as described. We couldn’t be happier with how things worked out.

Peninsula State Park, WI, United States
The park's main entrance is on Highway 42 in Fish Creek, about 75 miles (1 hour 30 minutes) northeast of Green Bay and roughly 240 miles (4 hours 15 minutes) from Chicago via I-43. Highway 42 through Door County is a two-lane road with tight village centers in Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, and Ephraim, so larger Class A motorhomes and long fifth wheels should drive cautiously and watch for low-hanging trees in the village cores. Inside the park, Skyline Road and Shore Road include sharp curves and short grades that are tight for rigs over 35 feet. The nearest commercial airport for fly-and-rent travelers is Green Bay-Austin Straubel International (GRB).
