Mid-June through early September is the most reliable window, when Route 510 is clear of snow, the park is open for camping, and temperatures are mildest. July and August bring the warmest weather and the Atlantic salmon fishing season, but also the most visitor traffic. Late June and early September are quieter shoulder periods, though nights are cool and blackflies and mosquitoes can be heavy in early summer. Outside this window, cold, snow, and icy roads make RV travel to Labrador impractical.

The Pinware River is one of southern Labrador's best-known Atlantic salmon rivers. Anglers fish designated pools during the summer season, and a provincial licence and scheduled river rules apply.
The sandy beach and estuary at the river mouth is a scenic spot for walking, beachcombing, and photography. Waters are very cold, so most visitors stay onshore.
The park's day-use area offers picnic tables with views of the river and the Strait of Belle Isle. It is a convenient break point while driving the Labrador Coastal Drive.
Red Bay, about 35 minutes north on Route 510, preserves a 16th-century Basque whaling station and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. RV parking is available at the interpretation centre. parks.canada.ca/lhn-nhs/nl/redbay
Point Amour is the second-tallest lighthouse in Canada and sits on a dramatic point south of the park. The site offers coastal walks, tours, and views over the Strait of Belle Isle.
Route 510 between Blanc-Sablon and Red Bay is a scenic drive linking small fishing communities, lighthouses, and interpretation sites. The road is paved but narrow, with pullouts suitable for short stops in an RV.
This National Historic Site marks one of the oldest known burial monuments in North America, dating back roughly 7,500 years. A short interpretive stop lies off Route 510 near L'Anse Amour.

Pinware River Provincial Park, NL, Canada
The park sits on Route 510 in southern Labrador, roughly a 1 hour drive (about 80 km) northeast of the Blanc-Sablon, Quebec ferry terminal, which connects by seasonal ferry from St. Barbe, Newfoundland. Red Bay is about 35 minutes further up the coast, and Happy Valley-Goose Bay lies many hours north on the long gravel sections of the Trans-Labrador Highway. RVers should plan for a paved but narrow coastal highway with few services, carry extra fuel and a spare tire, and be aware that the ferry has vehicle length limits and reservations are strongly recommended. The nearest airport for fly-and-rent travellers is Blanc-Sablon (YBX) in Quebec, just across the provincial border.
