Late June through early September offers the warmest air and water temperatures for swimming and picnicking at the beach. July and August are the busiest months but also the most reliable for sunny, mild coastal weather. Shoulder visits in June and September are quieter and suit RVers who prefer cooler days and empty beaches, though services may be reduced. Facilities are seasonal and the park is not maintained for winter visits.

Port Shoreham Beach is the main attraction, a long sheltered stretch of sand and gravel on Chedabucto Bay. The shallow, protected water warms up in mid to late summer and is popular with families.
The shoreline is ideal for walking, collecting sea glass and exploring tidepools at low tide. Sturdy footwear helps on the cobble sections of the beach.
Grassy picnic areas overlook Chedabucto Bay and are equipped with tables for a midday stop. The site is a convenient break point on the Marine Drive touring route.
The park sits on Nova Scotia's Marine Drive, a coastal touring route that follows the eastern shore. RVers can combine a beach stop with visits to nearby fishing villages and lighthouses.
The bay and adjacent forest edge attract shorebirds, gulls and songbirds through the warmer months. Early morning visits in late summer and fall are especially productive.
The historic village of Guysborough is a short drive east and offers a waterfront, restaurants and local shops. It makes a natural pairing with a beach day at Port Shoreham.

Port Shoreham Beach Provincial Park, NS, Canada
The park sits along Route 344 on the south shore of Chedabucto Bay, about a 20 to 30 minute drive west of the village of Guysborough. From Antigonish it is roughly a 1 hour drive via Highway 104 and Route 344, and from Halifax about 3 to 3.5 hours. RV drivers should expect narrow, winding rural coastal roads with some hills and limited shoulders along Route 344, and fuel stops are sparse east of Antigonish. The nearest major airport for fly-and-rent trips is Halifax Stanfield International Airport.
